Marngrook of steel

Friday night. The air is crisp, and I’m sitting in the stands, proudly wearing my brand new red and white hoodie. It’s been a while since I was a regular at Swans games, but tonight, I’m back, and the energy is magnetic.

The first quarter is a bit of a shocker. We’re sluggish, fumbling the ball, and missing opportunities we really should be converting. I find myself shaking my head, wondering why I’m here, watching us struggle against the old enemy, Collingwood.

The halftime break feels long, but when play resumes for the third quarter, everything changes. This is the "premiership quarter" for a reason, and we come out firing. The lights seem to flick on, and we claw our way back into the lead with a flurry of goals.

The final term is a tense, back-and-forth affair. Collingwood fights hard, but we hold our nerve. It might not have been our most polished performance, but a good team finds a way to win even when they’re not at their best, and that’s exactly what we did. A solid win, and a great way to cap off the weekend. Go Swans!
